Young and old turned their hand to milking the FRS Cow the ‘traditional way’ at the ploughing championship in Athy. During the three days over 1,000 hands enjoyed the unique experience of milking the patient FRS cow, who craved to have a name. Finally, at the end of day three she was named… FReSia… associating her to her Friesian breed, the fressia flower and of course the letters F R S . This truly creative and fitting name to the FRS brand was entered into the competition by Sheila from Carrignavar. Sheila was delighted with her win and commented ‘I never win anything’ and asked twice ‘is this a joke’. It was no joke and Shelia will have her IPAD 2 (engraved ‘from the FRS cow Ploughing ’11) hand delivered by her local FRS manager, Paudy Collins, FRS Midleton, Co Cork.

Among the hundreds of children TV presenter, Mary Kennedy gave FReSia a milk on day one, the president of Macra Na Feirma, Alan Jagoe on day two and Geraline Comiskey a  Sunday World model on day

FRS Training held around the clock chainsaw safety demonstrations which proved very interesting to the crowds that formed. Many enquired about the range of nationwide training courses that FRS Training offer.
